New Cataract Eye Surgery Technique- Microphatkonit
India is leading the way in cataract eye surgery techniques!
Introducing the Microphaconit procedure:
The smallest ever incision to fix a cataract with surgery was performed in full view (via big screen TV, no less) of about 300 leading ophthalmologists from all over India.
The incision [Technical info: 700 Microns] is about the size of the tip of a .5mm ball-point pen, and needed a newly invented (by the surgeon: Amar Agarwal) needle.
So that is all well-and-good, but what about the patient? What did they think?
Apparently they didn’t have any discomfort [after the 15-minute operation] and didn’t need to stay in the hospital overnight.
So far this procedure is only available in India!
Have a good one!
