What Is Conductive keratoplasty Eye Surgery?
It’s not just Laser’s that help with eye surgery these days, you know!
Radio waves can help with some presbyopia cases.
Introducing: Conductive keratoplasty (CK)
The CK procedure involves using radio-frequency waves to slightly alter the cornea (reshape it), which in turn helps the patient see better close-up. This is different from laser eye surgery because CK doesn’t cut the cornea.
But one thing to be aware of: CK is NOT for everyone, in fact in is really only for people who had perfect (or really good) vision until they developed presbyopia, and now have to use glasses for reading.
So if you have problems seeing far away, you’re not likely a good candidate for CK.
Have a great day!
