Eye Surgery Options - PRK and LASEK
There are a lot of options when considering eye surgery.
Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK)
Laser-Assisted Sub-Epithelial Keratectomy (LASEK)
PRK and LASEK are eye surgery procedures for people with thin corneas. The more common LASIK is more suited to people that don’t have thin corneas.
PRK and LASEK involve reshaping the front of the cornea whereas LASIK surgery reshapes the the middle layer.
Healing is a longer process too: Up to a week with a contact lens over the cornea.
The risks with PRK and LASEK are similar to other eye surgery options, hey it’s surgery on your eyes afterall! But the chance to be able to see a lot better can be a powerful incentive.
Costs are similar to LASIK also.
I hope this helps!
Have a great day!
